REVENGE OF THE BOX OFFICE
So, I don't know if you're aware, but there's a new Star Wars movie out. I went and saw it last night with some of my friends. Hmmm. How to sum-up...well, it was entertaining. And visually, quite an experience. And Ewan McGreggor made it worth watching. The script wasn't exactly Shakespeare and it kind of made Hayden Christiansen seem as if English were his second or third language and he didn't always understand what he was saying. But I won't blame that on him as an actor. I thought he was good in "Life As a House", and i've heard good things about "Shattered Glass". I guess it really just depends on the script and the director...imagine that. All over, i'd say it's worth seeing, because you've gotta see it, right? I mean, it's the last one (cough cough), and in it, all of the "questions" are answered.
We saw it at the famous Archlight Theatre. They have a good set-up in that you have assigned seating with your ticket, so you can arrive five minutes before start-time and know that you have a seat. It's super fancy in there, too; all stadium seating, gourmet snack-bar, gift-shop. Pretty cool. And I went with my BF Tina and some friends from work; and by "friends from work", I mean two massive and adorable barbacks, their reality TV star friend, and our resident comedian. We all went for dinner after at a great little place on Sunset and had yummy fried plantains and goat cheese salads. Good times.
BUMMER OF THE WEEK
My show didn't get picked-up. Oh well. That's part of the biz, ya' know. It was a good stepping stone and a superior learning experience. And on the next thing that I book, I won't be so green. Nothing but good things.
